eCommerce Manager

Job Duties

  • Review sales performance on company website and our Amazon, eBay, and Rakuten.com stores and strategically devise ways to increase our web presence, increase profits, and optimize operations. This includes functionality and design strategies on our website and item listing and pricing strategies and general maintenance on other web portals.
  • Supervise and assist with the processing of online orders placed via all web portals and provide customer service for all online orders.
  • Work with development team to troubleshoot web issues and implement new strategies to improve web performance.
  • Work with marketing and inventory teams to create and send promotional email blasts and drive traffic and sales to our website.

Skills Required

  • 2-4 years' experience in eCommerce management, online sales, customer service management, or related fields.
  • Technological fluency and the ability to learn new applications/platforms quickly and thoroughly. WebDev, database management, social media, online marketing experience a plus.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize in order to meet daily, weekly, and long-term requirements and goals.
  • Meticulous attention to detail while processing a high volume of orders and monitoring performance of thousands of products across multiple sales platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. The eCommerce department must balance their own workload with the needs and strategies of all other departments in relation to the online marketplace.
  • Excellent analytical abilities in regard to web performance numbers, sales trends, user experience and the ability to suggest changes and enact improvements to drive and sustain growth.
  • The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of basic IT networking and the ability to troubleshoot simple issues for end users.

Customer Service Representative

Johnson String Instrument is seeking customer service representatives with experience in string instruments to join our office staff.

Office staff are responsible for answering phones, screening calls and transferring accordingly, as well as assisting callers with accessory sales, rental transactions, and providing general information about services/products; other miscellaneous office tasks as assigned.

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to multi-task. A customer service background and strong computer skills are preferred. The ideal candidate takes initiative and works well in a team.

Part-time: 25-28 hours per week, M/W/Th/F hours somewhat flexible between 10-6.

Please have reliable transportation to work in both our Newton and Waltham office locations.

Rental Workshop Luthier

Johnson String Instrument is seeking a full-time luthier to join our rental repair workshop staff in Waltham, MA. Work includes set-up and maintenance of rental violins, violas, and cellos.

Repair, set-up or making experience with bowed string instruments strongly preferred. Quick and accurate work is expected, as we are a high-volume shop with high standards. Tremendous attention to detail and ability to focus amidst a busy shop are essential!

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Excellent entry level position with full benefits package including health and dental insurance, 401K with matching, and paid vacation and personal time.

Front Counter Associate

Johnson String Instrument is seeking string instrumentalists proficient in violin, viola, and/or cello to join our storefront staff in Newton Centre, MA.

Job entails assisting customers with sheet music and accessory sales, performing instrument rental transactions, acting as client liaison to the Sales and Repair departments, and basic store upkeep, among other tasks.

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Customer service background and strong computer skills preferred. The ideal candidate is personable, professional, and detail oriented.

Part-time: 24-28 hours per week.
